Cassie Urquhart (she/her), a YVoS alumna from the Fall 2025 cohort, recently published new nature poetry in the online journal ALOCASIA! Although she has been writing for most of her life, Cassie didn’t begin submitting her poetry for publication until after completing the YVoS program. Following the acceptance of three poems for publication during the program, she has continued to write and submit her work regularly.
Her poetry explores themes of nature, loss, and reflections on everyday moments and experiences. You can find her work online and in print through ALOCASIA, Exist Otherwise, Silkworm, and other publications.
We’re excited to celebrate Cassie’s continued contributions to nature-based poetry and the creative ways she uses writing to share her appreciation for the natural world and communicate science with new audiences!
