The YVoS Fall 2026 program is now seven weeks underway, and participants are making their way through an exciting lineup of science communication workshops! This session’s cohort includes 25 participants representing 25 unique academic institutions across the United States and around the world.
Our workshop lineup has highlighted a variety of communication mediums and featured experienced science communicators and public engagement professionals, including:
Using Social Media to Communicate Science with Cate Larsen
The Art of Audio Storytelling with Ari Daniel
Science Communication Panel with YVoS Alumni
Engaging with Policymakers with Chanel Matney
Communicating Science in an Age of Distrust with Tyus Williams
How to Write an Op-Ed with David George Haskell
Each workshop leader brings unique expertise and perspectives to the program, giving participants the opportunity to explore different approaches to science communication and learn from professionals working across a range of media and audiences.
As we move further into the session, participants have also selected the topics and formats for their individual outreach projects, putting the skills and strategies they’ve learned into practice in a real world setting. Projects this session span a wide range of creative approaches, including op-eds and articles, infographics, illustrated field guides, Instagram pages, interactive online educational materials, public presentations, photography, and more!
We’re excited to see how participants bring their ideas to life and share their science with new audiences!
