Alumni Update: Clayton Glasgow New Blog Post

Alumni Update: Clayton Glasgow, a YVoS alumnus from the Spring 2026 cohort, recently wrote a blog post for Big Biology to accompany his podcast episode featuring David George Haskell. The post explores the remarkable evolutionary transition of flowering plants from land to sea, and how this transition gave rise to some of the most productive and ecologically important coastal habitats on Earth.

Despite their often inconspicuous appearance, seagrasses are ecological powerhouses, playing an outsized role in carbon storage, biodiversity, and coastal protection. Read Clayton’s post to discover more about these fascinating ecosystems and the important role they play in our coastal environments!
