Cami Armendariz – Spring 2022

The Dichotomy of Half-Life by Cami Armendariz.

For her outreach project, Cami decided to write an op-ed style piece titled The Dichotomy of a Half-Life. This topic centers around vitrification and the importance of finding solvency for radioactive waste. Cami writes about the process of vitrification, where it has been utilized worldwide, and how it can be a valuable method for managing nuclear waste, if used efficiently.

After writing this piece, Cami felt it had evolved into more of an informational article, with an interview aspect, and could potentially evolve into a blog style post. Her project is still in the editing stage, stay tuned for updates and the full article when it is complete!
