Darby Bergl – Fall 2022

“Neck of Our Woods” Podcast

For her outreach project, Darby Bergl, PhD student at Northern Arizona University (26’), started a podcast series titled “Neck of Our Woods”, an inclusive podcast that aims to use the voices and stories of local and regional community members and expert scientists to share their personal stories and research relating to various climate change issues.

The “Neck of Our Woods” podcast series seeks to bridge the gap between scientists, communities and policymakers, in order to make progress towards positive climate solutions. The different guest speakers on the podcast bring a wonderful range of varying perspectives on serious climate issues within communities, and maintain an overall sense of authority and authenticity on these episodes.

The podcast will be published on her existing Substack, where she currently publishes a newsletter titled “Ecosystem Ecology Overview”, covering topics related to ecosystem ecology. Visit her website to listen to her first podcast episode and read her personal newsletter!
