Hallie Cordingley – Spring 2022

A Deeper Side of the Clean Energy Transition by Hallie Cordingley.

Hallie, member of the YVoS Spring 2022 cohort, wrote an op-ed about an opinionated connection between seabed mining and the demand for clean energy production materials, a more economics focused piece. As a news peg, Hallie used the invocation of the Defense Production Act, aimed at increasing US energy independence amidst both climate change and a divestment from Russian imports following the onset of war in Ukraine. This op-ed has since been pitched to a news source and is currently being reviewed for publication.
