THEM in STEM: Inclusive STEM organization
Sara Rivera, a Masters student studying tropical fireflies at Western Carolina University, created a science outreach organization titled THEM in STEM. This inclusive science outreach organization is committed to spreading love and acceptance through the joy of science.
Sara uses her knowledge and experience to bring joyful science education experiences to her community through stories and science events, both virtually and in person! Sara’s main goals for the organization are:
- To make science accessible, engaging and fun
- Show that science is for EVERYONE
- Enhance creativity and curiosity
- Encourage respect for people and nature
